We are perfect strangers, somewhere deep inside I know you well. Worlds apart aren’t as far as they seem, perfect strangers, you and me.

It’s been fifteen years since we released Perfect Strangers. I’ve always believed that it’s important to create space for something new, so I decided now is the right time to clear out a box of CDs hanging out in storage. For a limited time, you can order the CD for $8 (to cover shipping & packaging.)

There is so much I love about this CD!

The title track, Perfect Strangers, is a song I wrote about my dad. I didn’t grow up near him. I mostly know him through other people’s stories. But I wrote this song after a visit. A few months passed. I finished the CD and sent him a copy. I’m told that he listened to it, on repeat, the last few years of his life.

Running Away features my friend Ronnie Fruge on lead guitar. It’s a song about running away from the past. I love the chord progression and the toe-tapping melody of this song.

I Won’t Quit You* is a song about resiliency in a relationship and staying the course. (Mickey’s favorite song on this album.) 😊

One Eye Closed is a song inspired by being the mother of two boys. I can’t count the number of times I heard “Watch this, Mom,” only to see an epic bicycle crash.

I Don’t Wanna Play is a song I wrote when I was feeling wounded by other people’s words and wanted to give up on my dreams of making music.

I Can’t Stop and You Caught Me By Surprise* are songs about the powerful force of falling in love.

Save it For Later is a song about not waiting—giving all my love every day.

Space Between is about the continuous flow of precious and magical moments we are gifted with every day. Mickey played his Gretsch guitar on this one.

Can You Feel My Love* is a song inspired by a young family separated by war.

This was our first time recording in Nashville and working with some fantastic session players. The experience was pure magic.

The cover photo was taken in the historic mining town of Silver Plume, Colorado. When I got the proofs back, I loved the photo with a stray dog walking down the street in the background—the perfect photo bomb. ❤️
